LPA spotted off Iloilo
MANILA, Philippines — Some areas in the country could experience gloomy weather after a low-pressure area (LPA) was detected off Concepcion, Iloilo, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
PAGASA said the LPA, spotted at 3 p.m. yesterday, could bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Visayas and Bicol regions and in Romblon, Quezon and Marinduque provinces.
Although the state weather bureau warned of possible flashfloods and landslides in those areas, it said the LPA was “unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.”
Localized thunderstorms will prevail over the Cordillera Administrative Region and in Ilocos while the easterlies will affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
