MANILA, Philippines — Dismissed policeman and vlogger Francis Steve Fontillas, who criticized President Marcos over the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte, was arrested yesterday in Quezon City.

Fontillas was arrested based on a warrant issued by Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 224 Judge Zita Marie Atienza-Fajardo for inciting to sedition in relation to Republic Act 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

The court recommended bail of P36,000 for his temporary liberty.

A complaint for sedition was filed against Fontillas over his Facebook posts about toppling the Marcos administration following the arrest of Duterte on March 11.

Fontillas has been dismissed from the service for grave misconduct, conduct unbecoming of a police officer and disloyalty to the government.
